Special Testing
We believe that exceptional care requires exceptional tools. Our office is equipped with the latest advancements in ophthalmic technology to provide a deeper, more precise look at your ocular health. With Optos wide-field retinal imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), we can detect subtle changes in the retina and optic nerve long before symptoms arise. Combined with Humphrey Visual Field testing and Corneal Topography, our diagnostic suite ensures that whether we are managing a chronic condition or fitting a complex lens, your eyes are in the safest possible hands.
OCT Testing
At our practice, your long-term eye health is our priority, which is why we utilize Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Often described as an "ultrasound for the eye," this advanced 3D imaging technology uses gentle light waves to look beneath the surface of your retina. While a standard exam checks the surface, the OCT allows us to see the delicate layers underneath, helping us detect conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease long before symptoms even appear. The process is entirely painless, takes only a few minutes, and requires no physical contact with your eye. By creating a high-definition digital baseline of your eye's health, we can monitor even the slightest changes over time, giving you the peace of mind that your vision is in expert hands.
Visual Field Testing
To ensure your vision is as clear and expansive as it should be, we offer Visual Field testing. While most tests focus on how clearly you see directly in front of you, a visual field test maps your peripheral (side) vision. This helps us understand how your brain and eyes communicate and allows us to detect early signs of conditions like glaucoma or neurological changes that might otherwise go unnoticed. During this comfortable, non-invasive test, you’ll simply relax and look at a central target while signaling when you see small points of light appear in your surrounding view. It’s a quick, painless way for us to ensure that your entire field of vision remains strong, healthy, and vibrant.
